愛編織的媽咪無敵！

今年三月，我們家闖入一隻不速之客，

這隻澳洲特有種的藍舌蜥蜴，

趁側門開開時偷偷跑到爸比桌子下，

後來爸比回到書桌時差點嚇出心臟病！

March this year we had an unexpected visitor:

an Australian blue-tongued lizard!

It snuck into our house and under Daddy's desk,

and almost gave Daddy a heart attack!

我們把蜥蜴逮捕後，

裝在透明箱子裡觀察了一個下午，

然後放回院子裡，

看見它又消失在後院的草莓園裡～

貝貝們說它似乎住在草莓園裡的一個枯樹幹中～

After we arrested the lizard,

it was put inside an insect box for observation during the afternoon,

before being released back into the yard.

The kids saw it disappear into our strawberries patch,

and thought that it lived in a hollowed-out log in the strawberries patch. 

事隔六個月後，

貝貝們竟然在前院又發現一隻藍舌蜥蜴，

而且用蝴蝶網逮捕歸案！

（可憐的蝴蝶網...... 這輩子不但沒捕過一隻蝴蝶，

倒是常用來捕捉我們家的放山天竺鼠，

現在連蜥蜴也得捉，真是忍辱負重啊～～～）

Now six months later, 

the kids found another blue-tongued lizard in the FRONT yard,

and caught it with a butterfly net!

(The poor long-suffering butterfly net..... not only has it NEVER caught a butterfly,

it is generally used to catching our free-ranging guinea pigs;

and now even has to catch lizard!)

發現之前的昆蟲箱子不夠大了捏！

到底是不是同一隻啊？

The insect box from March could no longer fit it....

is it actually the same one???

胖胖的藍舌蜥蜴～～～

朋友說，看來它冬眠出來後有吃飽，

因為肚子鼓鼓的～

The fat blue-tongued lizard~~~

A friend says that it had probably fed pretty well after hibernation,

because it has a fat belly~

昨天抓到蜥蜴後，

貝貝們又興沖沖帶著箱子去給表哥表妹們看，

結果蜥蜴在箱子裡大了便、又踩在大便上，

一掀開蓋子就臭氣沖天！

可憐的蜥蜴，這輩子大概沒這麼骯臟過！

After catching the lizard yesterday,

the kids took it to show their cousins.

On the way the lizard pooed in the box, and WALKED all over the poo,

so that the box stank as soon as we lifted up the lid!

The poor lizard has probably never been so disgusting in its entire life!

晚上從表妹家回來，

大貝貝把蜥蜴放回原來前門的樹下，

媽咪還拿水管把它先沖乾淨，

怕它太臭會吸引獵食者～

When we returned from their cousins' place,

Justin released the lizard back to the tree in the front.

Mummy even sprayed it with a hose,

just in case its stink would attract predators.

媽咪很擔心它被沖水後會失溫昏迷，

但今早爸比竟然又看到它很大膽的出現在我們大門口了！

顯然昨天被貝貝們蹂躪的經驗沒把它嚇跑！哈哈～～～

Mummy was worried that it might catch hyperthermia from the hosing,

but this morning Daddy saw it daringly reappear outside our front door again!

Apparently being tortured by the kids yesterday didn't scare it away!
